Accident on A3 on Wednesday 16th December

In the early hours of 16th December, there was an incident affecting one of our volunteers who was carrying blood products to one of our customer hospitals. Thankfully our rider is safe and well, suffering only minor injuries.

SERV Surrey & South London has well documented policies and procedures for dealing with the unexpected, and these coupled with the extensive training our volunteers receive ensured the blood product reached its intended recipient within the expected time frame. SERV Surrey & South London would like to express their thanks to all the emergency services involved, the Good Samaritan who assisted our rider and other casualties at the scene and express our concern for everyone else who was impacted by the unfortunate events on the 16th December.

I’ll second that, hope you are feeling better soon. Nice one to SSL for getting the blood delivered, this is what we do!

Thoughts are with our fellow blood runners. I know we all face a risk getting on the bike but it’s good to know we have such well trained and coordinated people working with us. All the best for a speedy recovery.
