12 Members Receive Biker Down Training

On the 30th May, 12 of our members attended a Biker Down course held at Guildford Fire Station. The course was conducted by Surrey Fire and Rescue Service in collaboration with members of Wey Valley Advanced Motorcyclists ( WVAM ). Thanks to the Surrey Biker Down team, our members left trained in valuable life saving skills and feeling confident they could assist if the situation ever arises. The course covers topics like managing the scene, how to deal more.

Thanks to Fin and his team at Fins Motorcycles in Redhill, who have fabricated custom brackets and fitted sturdy racks to our 2 Triumph Tiger 800 fleet bikes. These will allow the bikes to carry 2 boxes of blood, blood products or fresh frozen breast milk safely and securely. more.

Fundraising at Sainsbury’s Brookwood

Last Sunday we at SERV S&SL were out fundraising at Sainsbury’s Brookwood Superstore. Thanks to all the customers for their kind donations and stopping for a chat, we managed to raise an impressive £968.50. Without this kind of support we can’t do what we do best. Thank you all who donated. more.

Cheque presented by Waitrose Esher

A big thank you to our regular supporters at Waitrose,Esher. Earlier today Julie presented our members Ray Semmens, Derek Holmes and Darren Pearson with a cheque for £290. These funds were raised by the Waitrose Community Matters Project which donates money each month to a charity that receives the most votes by customers. more.
On Sunday 9th April we at SERV – Surrey & South London carried out our annual Easter Egg Run to Evelina London Children’s Hospital​. Around 18 members rode in convoy through the streets of London on the hottest day of the year so far. Our Citroen DS3, sponsored by Charters Citroen Aldershot​ along with a car from NHSBT who also donated a boot full of chocolate, carried the brunt of the eggs following at the rear. This was welcomed by the more.
On the 6th April our rider Ray assisted with the Paint Fleet Blue Campaign by delivering hundreds of samples to Frimley Park Hospital. The samples were taken throughout the evening to screen against prostate cancer. These were conveyed by our motorcycle that was purchased by The Grand Lodge Of Mark Master Masons London earlier this year. The money to run the campaign was raised by the residents of Fleet and by fundraising by the Fleet Lions Club. Over 220 more.
SERV S&SL are delighted to announce the resumption of a Human Breast Milk Collection Service. An agreement has been signed with Evelina London Children’s Hospital to collect fresh frozen breast milk from donors within the London area to maintain the Hospitals’ milk bank. Collections will be made on a regular basis by volunteers giving up their free time to help others. This service will be carried out during working hours on 2 new Triumph more.

Kingston Hospital requests a special transfer

On 26th February Kingston Hospital​ made their first use of SERV Surrey & South London’s free blood runner’s service provided to the NHS. At 01.50 the Pathology department requested a sample to be taken to the National Blood Centre at Filton, Bristol. Normally the charity only operates within Surrey and London but this was a special request and we try to help out whenever possible. Our volunteer rode through the night to the Great Western more.
Today saw the presentation of three motorbikes to SERV Surrey and South London by the Provincial Grand Lodge of Mark Masters Masons in London today in a ceremony at the Mark Masons’ Hall in Central London.  Chairman Hugh Terry and SERV S&SL riders Jon Fautley, Ray Semmens, Ian Price and Phil Rawcliffe all attended the handover this afternoon where the Yamaha FJR1300 and two Triumph Tiger 800s were handed over by David Ashbolt, Provincial Grand Master more.
