At our AGM in April, we accepted a new motorcycle to our fleet – a Triumph Sprint GT, a purchase made possible by a generous bequest from the estate of Naomi Twist, a much loved and missed SERV S&SL volunteer who sadly passed away in 2014.
Naomi’s will was executed by her sister Sue and it was her wish that any residue from her estate be donated to a charity of Sue’s choice, she kindly chose SERV Surrey & South London as she’d heard Naomi speak of SERV frequently, particularly in her last months.
It was only right and proper that we show Sue how we’d used the money to purchase the bike and prepare it for our use; a group of SERV S&SL volunteers rode to Cambridgeshire to meet Sue for her to officially unveil “Naomi” and put her in SERVice.
With the formalities out of the way a lunch was enjoyed by all where stories about Naomi were shared with laughter and the odd tear.
“The Naomi Twist Memorial Bike”, a fitting tribute to a remarkable lady is now equipped, liveried and in SERVice.
