On 7th July we conducted a training session for several of our members on the process of restocking the Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance. This training covered the collection and delivery of the product along with the documentation process. The members were also informed of the safety procedures required on an active airfield. On the 30th May, 12 of our members attended a Biker Down course held at Guildford Fire Station. The course was conducted by Surrey Fire and Rescue Service in collaboration with members of Wey Valley Advanced Motorcyclists ( WVAM ). Thanks to the Surrey Biker Down team, our members left trained in valuable life saving skills and feeling confident they could assist if the situation ever arises. As a result of the Waitrose Community Matters scheme, which helps provide support to local charities, SERV Surrey & South London were the grateful recipients of a cheque for £321.00 from Waitrose in Haslemere. We would like to thank all of the customers of Waitrose stores who use their green tokens to support the work that we do.
On Tuesday 2nd May SERV Surrey & South London were delighted to be able to assist fellow Blood Runner Groups with the transportation of blood samples from Countess of Chester Hospital in Chester to Kings College Hospital, Denmark Hill in London. The sample left Countess of Chester Hospital at 10.00 carried by Shropshire and Staffordshire Blood Bikes and was taken to Hilton Park Service where it was transferred to a rider from Midland Freewheelers who .....read more.
Congratulations to Bloodrun who have just received a donation which will enable them to purchase a new Yamaha FJR 1300 Blood Bike. Thanks to Fin and his team at Fins Motorcycles in Redhill, who have fabricated custom brackets and fitted sturdy racks to our 2 Triumph Tiger 800 fleet bikes. These will allow the bikes to carry 2 boxes of blood, blood products or fresh frozen breast milk safely and securely. https://www.finsmotorcycles.co.uk
Last Sunday we at SERV S&SL were out fundraising at Sainsbury’s Brookwood Superstore. Thanks to all the customers for their kind donations and stopping for a chat, we managed to raise an impressive £968.50. Without this kind of support we can’t do what we do best.
