October 2014 Air Ambulance Update

The latest stats are in from Kent Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance, and to date, 129 transfusions have been carried out, 69 of these in 2014 so far. Since February 2013, volunteer riders and drivers for SERV Surrey & South London have been restocking Kent Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance at their Redhill base enabling them to carry out lifesaving transfusions at more.
Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance (KSSAA) has announced that the “golden hour” blood delivered by SERV Surrey & South London and SERV Kent has been used almost 70 times in the year since they became one of the fist air ambulances to carry blood on board for emergency transfusions. On the evening of 12th November, SERV S&SL members who provide support to the Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance were invited to the Redhill hanger for an update evening.
