On the 8th of October SERV – Surrey & South London are taking part in a Swimathon organised by the Rotary Club of Woking. This event will raise money for local charitable causes via sponsorship. This year’s charities are: Samber RDA (Riding for the Disabled), Woking Street Angels, Woking & Sam Beare Hospices and Horsell Village School Forest Project. Each team is made of up to 6 swimmers who will each take it turn to swim one length. Each team is given a lane of the pool and will swim for 55 minutes. Every team member gets sponsorship for the teams total lengths swum, which can be up to 100 lengths or more.
The team this year are Alan Rogers, Jamie Betteridge, Paul Trotman, Steve Osborne, Derek Holmes and Kim Brewin. They take to the water at 10am, so if you’re free head down to the Pool in the Park, Woking and cheer them on!
