SERV S&SL Nightly Exchange Run – Drivers Needed

SERV S&SL are looking to recruit local car drivers for our fixed supply run each evening for our fellow SERV regions, Kent and Sussex. This is so that SERV SSL can release other resources to continue the reliable and regular service to our own hospitals. This is an ideal opportunity for those who may have considered joining us in the past but who more.

The good folk at Merstham Community Facility Trust were good enough to allow us to use their excellent facilities in Portland Drive, Merstham for training sessions, during which we increased the numbers of controllers and rider/driver volunteers. MCFT requested no payment for the six training sessions that SERV Surrey & South London held at this premises, and one session more.

The Air Ambulance, up close and personal

On arrival at Redhill Aerodrome this evening, to carry out the daily blood restock of the Air Ambulance, our volunteers Alan and Erik were greeted by the sight of the helicopter already spinning up ready for take off. This short video tells the rest of the story. As you’ll hear, and more.
After a successful presence last year, in which our volunteers assisted with retrieving flying gazebos and consumption of copious cakes, Friends of Furzefield (the school’s parent teacher association) invited us to make a repeat appearance this year. The weather in the morning was looking a decidedly iffy but we still fielded two volunteer bikes, more.
