Following previous years’ involvement, SERV Surrey and South London were once again asked to provide an escort for the Cobham at Christmas Extravaganza and Lights Turn on and were only too happy to oblige. The event took place this year on 25th November and around ten SERV S&SL riders turned up for marshalling duties.
The riders met beforehand at the Royal British Legion in Hollyhedge Road, Cobham, for a pre-event briefing before the procession set off around 6pm, led by two of SERV S&SL’s marked bikes – “Mark” and “Thunderbird 2” – with the charity’s car, “Jan”, and two more marked bikes bringing up the rear.
Hundreds of people turned out to see the festive fun and the parade passed off safely with the Cobham lights being switched on at 7pm that evening by Sky News’ Nazaneen Ghaffar.
Special thanks go to to Bronte’s Cafe in Cobham for providing the the SERV S&SL riders with coffee and mince pies to set them up for the night.
