SERV Surrey & South London attended the Kempton Park “Southern Classic Bike Show”. Placed opposite the Ace Café stand, we were treated to the earsplitting spectacle of 8 times champion Phil Read firing up the Moto-Paton GP500 bike. Quite the sight, sound and smell!
The exhibtion was of course excellent and well attended, the bike-autojumble outside did not do so well in the inclement weather, the show itself was shoulder to shoulder busy at times with some fine machines on display including “modern” classics like the V-Max.
As well as motorcycles on display, there were also some excellent scooter displays; the exquisite care and attention to detail in restoration was clearly evident on all of the exhibits.
SERV Surrey & South London boasts a few Classic motorcycle owners in it’s ranks, here’s SERV rider, Ian showing off his BSA “Goldie” to admiring bike fans.
We raised £124.11 in our collection buckets at the event, a remarkable achievement especially given the poor weather, and we might have even gained a volunteer or two as well.
